June 14 ................. Pioneerland Band Festival

The Pioneerland Band Festival was started in 1988 and is held on June 14 at 6:30pm, Flag Day, every year. The finest high school marching bands come from all over to compete for cash prizes and trophies.

3rd Thursday of July ................... Crazy Day

During Crazy Day the local businesses have a sale and display their items on the sidewalks in front of their business, it starts around 7am. Be sure to come out early to get the best deals!

3rd Weekend of July ............. Kid Day Weekend

Benson's Kid Day is full of activities focusing on family and kid events. On Staurday, the Kid Day parade starts at 10am, and is followed with the carnival in the park from 12-3pm. The Ranch Rodeo has teams competing for prizes in team doctoring, wild cow milking, and other events. They ride rain or shine at 5pm. The antique car show starts at 4pm at the Benson Bowler and then the Car Cruise follows at 7:30pm. The long path of unique cars parades around the town several times for everyone to see. At 7pm the coronation starts and the new king and queen of Kid Day are crowned. The winners from other talent shows earlier in the week perform on stage as well. On Sunday, join us at the Benson Airport from 7am-1pm for a pancake and sausage breakfast. Airplane rides are available.

July-Sept ........................ Farmer's Market

Visit the market for local food and locally crafted goods. Every thursday from 4pm-7pm in the downtown railroad park. Afterwards enjoy browsing the local shops and stop into one of our charming diners for lunch.

August ........................... Threshing Show

Join us for the Annual Threshing Show for a fun, family weekend. Enjoy a weekend of threshermen activities including a tractor pull and plowing. Antique tractors will also be displayed.

3rd Weekend of August ........... Swift County Fair

The Swift County Fair is held in Appleton, MN. Come and enjoy the Swift County fair. There are rides, games, food, 4-H exhibits, general exhibits, animals, a petting barn, free entertainment throughout the fair, and a grand stand performance every day.

September ........................ Annual Ribfest

Join us for the 4th annual rib fest held at the Benson Golf Course in September. We will have 8 cooks, the Fry Guys are back and the caramel apple booth will be back to satisfy your sweet tooth. We are glad to announce that the Blues Brothers review will be playing live music again this year. Join us for a day of fun and fantastic food.

October (MEA Weekend) ............. Fall Crafl Fair

The Benson Fall Craft Fair is held during MEA each year. It goes from 9am - 3pm and is held at the Benson High School. The craft fair includes a wide variety of quality handmade crafts by many crafters in the area.

October (MEA Weekend) ............... Holiday Expo

The Women of Today Holiday Expo has a wide variety of commercial and food vendors. Located at the Benson Armory from 9am to 2pm.
